Learning, Care and Safety Minimbah was opened in 1983 by a group of parents who previously operated Karonga School. They established a day program for school leavers, with the goal of: “providing experiences, services and support for people with developmental disabilities to enable them to reach their potential and share more fully in the total life of the community”. Minimbah’s premises were opened on 20 April 1983 and some of the initial group of clients continue to attend Minimbah today. Structure Minimbah is an Incorporated Association conducted by a voluntary board, a staff of thirty and a small group of active volunteers.
